A LITTLE INSIGHT
WHY WE’RE MAKING THE FTD DOCUMENTARY
If you’re unfamiliar with frontotemporal dementia, consider yourself fortunate. There is little else like this sinister dementia in the human experience.
It’s a devastating blow to anyone it touches, and arguably an even more devastating blow to the loved ones of that person, particularly since it can hit at much younger ages than other, more familiar dementias.
So why are we making this documentary? To comfort, inform and inspire families who’ve suffered the devastating effects of FTD on a loved one, and to raise awareness among those who don’t know of the disease, so they are better prepared to deal with its effects on any family, friends, or co-workers who may eventually be affected by it.
THE MISSION
WHAT THE FTD DOCUMENTARY WILL ACCOMPLISH
The FTD documentary needs to comfort, inform and inspire families who have suffered the devastating effects of FTD on a loved one.
It also needs to raise awareness among those who don’t know of the disease, so they are better prepared to deal with its effects on any family, friends or co-workers who may eventually be affected by it.
Finally, the frontotemporaldementia.org website will serve as a long-term resource, created FOR the community, BY the community, to help all future afflicted families move forward.

THE MOTIVATION
why we put in the work
I learned a great hack from Tony Robbins a long time ago, on how to properly prepare for any larger project you find yourself working on, in order to ensure success. Tony calls it The Rapid Planning Method (RPM for short), and in my opinion it’s a must for any endeavor beyond just a single person’s work.
One of the greatest parts of the process is a clear creation of the WHY behind the work — and not just your own personal why, but ALL the WHYs — the reasons behind the work, why it’s important for everyone involved.
It’s a beautiful thing to not only document these reasons at the start of a project, but also to share them with everyone involved. There’s a bit of magic in here, and that’s what we’re doing as we bring this long-term project to a close over the next year and a half.
So without further ado, below you’ll find the WHY behind the Frontotemporal Dementia Documentary.
